![]() A dastardly crowd, unquestionably, but how else am I to restock my shelves or ascertain news from across Qud The Consortium of Phyta is a consortium comprised of plant life. And flamethrowers/launchers are not at all weapons that can be used in any situation. We are a fellowship of trees, vines, shrubs, weeds, flowers, herbs, cacti, algae - most sorts of plants, really. ![]() Heavy weapons excepting the flamethrower and the grenade launcher are basically garbage- that tree is in dire need of a minigun. The Quills mutation grants the player a certain amount of quills to spend on various actions at mutation level 1, the max. But I can tell you for sure, rifles are only better if you want to engage at long range- and FYI that requires having a long-range light source underground or at night- or if you're really concerned about ammo consumption. Quills is a physical mutation that grants the quills natural equipment, providing the player with natural body armor, melee damage reflection, and the ability to discharge their quills to deal damage around themselves. To be fair, I've never had a high-level run that wasn't a gunslinger, so I can't speak to the ways that the various melee skill trees stack up- except to say that I have been killed by plenty of putus templars even at high levels, and I get stunned often enough by cudgel attacks that I'm sure an actual human could probably beat me. But I quickly learned that they really are the best of the ranged-weapon skill trees, and just today I finally killed a chrome pyramid in a run where I was actually connected to steam (for the achievement)- that particular character has all but the "empty the clips" skills under pistols purchased- and despite the fact that I really did the job with dual-wielded vibrokopeshes, I haven't even purchased the base long blades skill. Granted, the reason I bought this game in the first place is because "gunslinger" was a class option. And that's without even addressing the "disarming shot" skill which is capable of neutering a lot of the game's deadliest enemies. Though another good option is to be careful about positioning- it's usually pretty easy to arrange yourself so that they can only come at you one at a time. And dual chain pistols is the perfect ickslug crowd control weapon, too (really the perfect crowd control weapon, period). A mod for Caves of Qud that gives you the tools & skills needed to build your own settlement.WORKSHOP. THE HORROR! Madpoles are perhaps THE reason I consider pistols to be the best weapon skill tree in the game. Full release.Caves of Qud - Caves of Qud is a science fantasy roguelike epic. In addition to its other stats, the fist grants +4 Ego this, combined with its +3 to hit and the aforementioned lack of a. It is notable for the fact that it has no effective strength cap to penetration, allowing a wielder with very high strength to do significant damage. Some corpses have no use, but many can be butchered or disassembled into reusable parts. The Fist of the Ape God is a unique cudgel dropped by Oboroqoru, Ape God.
